Dubai Launches 1st AI & Coding Licence

25th March 2022

The UAE's first Artificial Intelligence (AI) and coding licence was launched in Dubai International Financial Center's Innovation Hub (DIFC).

Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, explained how this fits into the UAE's bigger digital transformation plans: “Such initiatives reflect positively on the country’s readiness to become a global destination for pioneering the future industries by adopting advanced technology stimulating innovation in various fields."

How the AI and Coding Licence supports the Dubai economy

The new licence compliments the country's 100 Coders Every Day strategy, which aims to attract 3,000 coders to the country’s workforce every month and facilitate the establishment of programming companies in the UAE through a set of incentives and benefits. This in turn is part of the ‘Projects of the 50’ initiative, which is a series of developmental and economic projects that aim to accelerate the UAE’s development and transform it into a comprehensive hub in all sectors and establish its status as an ideal destination for talents and investors.

Earlier this year, Coders HQ was launched in Dubai to create the region's strongest coding community, attract the highest number of coders per capita in the world and connect them with the best opportunities.

If your organization is in AI and coding, then you need to be in Dubai. Not only will you be in the thick of the stimulating, innovative buzz - more than 500 companies are already operating in DIFC's Innovation Hub - but you will also have the opportunity to get the coveted Golden Visa for you and your employees.
